Defying Gravity - Posture and Aging Freedom

  • Rochambeau Library PCL 708 Hope Street Providence, RI, 02906 United States (map)

Bodies aren't straight, we're not machines. We are bags of water controled by curved bungee cords hooked to an electro-chemical system. So let's rethink our approach to sitting, standing and moving--and feel better, okay? Kerry McKenna, Certified Rolfer™ and Metaphoric Healer, offers a new roadmap to what a body-mind requires in order to feel easy, free and at rest.

Exploration topics include:

  • What does the brain have to do with the posture? How can we change it?

  • How can we relieve pain, de-stress, improve balance and age excellently?

  • When is stretching effective? and When is strengthening not so good?

  • Can we really reverse “the slouch”?

  • Releasing the nervous system’s priority for fear, safely~!

Postural evaluations will be available (optional) for customized recommendations based on Dr. Ida Rolf's Structural Integration principles. This does not constitute therapy or bodywork, but education. No special materials are necessary. Come with questions!
